I began playing guitar at age 9. From the beginning, I was rather more interested in writing my own music than in learning the music of others, and by age 15 I was regularly composing and recording instrumental guitar tracks. I sent one of those tracks to Berklee College of Music and was admitted on scholarship. I studied at Berklee for a time under the private instruction of Joe Stump. My guitar compositions are deeply influenced by what some call “early music,” by which I mean Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque music. I also have a background in mathematics and philosophy and actively publish in these areas. To paraphrase Abraham Lincoln: “People who like this sort of thing will find this the sort of thing they like.” If the more sophisticated reader objects that this statement is totally useless, they may at least give it credit for not being a contradiction.
